Sign of the Times…Kids Raving about the Best iPad 2 Apps

My husband and I turned to one another and half laughed/half shook our heads at the telltale 21st century enthused discussion that our kids were having with their friends who were over at our house. They could hardly contain themselves talking about what they think are the best iPad 2 apps. It reminded us of how we used to talk feverishly with our friends about what we thought of the latest and greatest things going when we were that age. My husband chimed in on the discussion the kids were having my mentioning what he thinks are the best apps for free … "free" being the operative word! I was glad to hear how informed they all are. I have to say, though, that I breathed a sigh of relief when they all eventually decided to go outside and play a game that got them running around in the fresh air. We do try to instill that in our kids, if we see they're spending a bit too much time on devices. They seem to understand. We encourage them, by all means, to be up to date and to make good use of the latest tech things that can enhance their lives and their studies, but we make sure they understand those are enhancements to life, which is made up of many diverse activities and pursuits.
