Latest Technologies in Sports Clothing
3D is one of the latest technologies to catch on the world of media, but the concept is also being applied to sports clothing by German designer Toray. The company has recently won an industry award for their incorporation of 3D technology into a new line of breathable, windproof and waterproof jackets designed for outdoor athletes.
A new 3D waterproof material developed by Toray offers a high level of breathability, thanks to the 3D surface of the coating. This keeps the inner lining dry and soft under any conditions, so that jackets can be worn comfortably directly against the skin. The 3D structure of the fabric increases the evaporation surface and transports perspiration directly to the outside so that no condensation forms on the inner lining. The jackets are robust yet lightweight and flexible.
